In June of 2015, the Stateman Journal wrote an article about Chris Goodman and his journey to return to the automotive profession after experiencing vision loss. The company he was working with ended up closing their doors, but that didn’t deter Chris from serving in his chosen profession. The Oregon Commission for the Blind bought him a diagnostic tool that provided accessible information and allowed him to use his mechanic knowledge to determine the steps to fix the problems reported by a car’s internal computer system. The Renaissance team helped Chris identify the best tool and learn how to use it which then allowed him to obtain employment as a diagnostic specialist. Chris’s determination to stay in his industry paid off and we’re honored to have been a part of his journey.
